What is Apostolic Teaching?
We like to use this definition by Peter Wagner: The phrase "apostles' doctrine means teaching in general, not just theology per se. The believers submitted to the spiritual authority of the apostles and followed their leadership. Because the apostles had just received 40 days of Jesus' teaching "things pertaining to the kingdom of God” (1:3), it is easy to imagine that much of what the apostles taught through deed and word would have been this. The Jews' belief in Jehovah God was solid, but the new believers had to adjust to being "in the last days" (2:17) according to the fulfillment of Joel's prophecy, particularly to move daily in the power of the Holy Spirit which had never previously been possible for the Jewish rank and file.
